Career Technology Student Organizations are integral parts of career and technology education courses towards preparing students to become college and career ready. CTSO enhance student learning through leadership and personal development, applied learning and real world application. Here at Cross Keys students participates in activities and competitive events at the local, regional, state and national levels of the various CTSOs.
Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda is a nonprofit education association of students preparing for careers in business and business-related fields. The FBLA Mission is to bring business and education together in a positive working relationship through innovative leadership and career development programs. Associated Programs: Business Pathway
Technology Student Association (TSA) is a national, non-profit organization for students with an interest in technology. TSA members learn problem-solving, decision-making, critical thinking and leadership skills as they relate to design, communications, power, energy, transportation, engineering, manufacturing, construction and biotechnology. TSA strives to meet the educational needs and challenges of all students in an increasingly and ever-changing technological world. Associated Programs: Manufacturing and Engineering Pathway
DECA is specifically designed to provide activities for students to learn marketing, management, and entrepreneurial skills that will prepare them to pursue a career in the field of marketing. DECA members become more aware of the value of community service; participate in a local, state, and national competitive events program that showcases student skills and allows for interaction with the business community; further develop occupational skills needed for careers in marketing, management, and entrepreneurship; serve in leadership roles; and develop a greater understanding of our competitive, free-enterprise system and an appreciation of the responsibilities of citizenship.
SkillsUSA is national organization that provides quality education experiences for students in leadership, teamwork, citizenship and character development. It builds and reinforces self-confidence, work attitudes and communications skills. It emphasizes total quality at work, high ethical standards, superior work skills, life-long education and pride in the dignity of work. SkillsUSA also promotes understanding of the free enterprise system and involvement in community service activities.
