Students in the construction class visited the training site on September 25 to observe their training facilities.  While on the job training site, Gavin Heneghan and Edwin Reyes had an opportunity to climb a utility pole. Anthony Lam had an opportunity to drill a hole or spikes fin a utility pole.
Cross Keys Construction class SkillsUSA joins partnership with Georgia Power Company in preparing students for employment as a lineman. Georgia Power offers a paid apprenticeship on-the-job training as well as in-classroom training before becoming a journeyman line. Their workforce is aging and they needed a supply of individuals who have the skills, knowledge, and ability to work safely in difficult conditions. Tony Owen and Marilyn Walker informed students of qualifications for the training program.
