SkillsUSA volunteers at Habitat for Humanity Restore

Cross Keys SkillsUSA members spent their Saturdays November 7 and 14, 2015 at the Doraville Habitat for Humanity Restore assisting in getting the store prepared for its grand opening. Habitat for Humanity ReStores are nonprofit home improvement stores and donation centers that sell new and gently used furniture, appliances, home accessories, building materials and more to the public at a fraction of the retail price. Fernando Flores stated that “this was manual labor but it also was labor from the heart for us. We want to make sure that we can help someone else.” SkillsUSA members moved furniture from a school to the store for six hours. Kelvin Gonzalez, Jesse Barrita and Roberto Sagredo agreed that they must have lifted over a ton of furniture during the day.
