CK Participates in JDRF One Walk

Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune disease in which a person’s pancreas
loses the ability to produce insulin—a hormone essential to turning food
into energy. It strikes both children and adults suddenly and is unrelated to diet and lifestyle. Cross Keys SkillsUSA President, Fernando Flores, stated that this was indeed an honor to walk because three of our advisors have Type 2 diabetes.”

All walkers that raised $100 or more by walk day earned an official
JDRF One Walk™ t-shirt. Jackie Juarez stated, “Visiting
the New
Family tent to gain information about JDRF, T1D, and upcoming programs and events was very interesting.” SkillsUSA members look forward to the Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes.
Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes is the signature fundraising walk of the American Diabetes Association. Jose Para, stated: “I’ll be there.”
