Cross Keys SkillsUSA community service volunteers drove to
the city of Atlanta on Saturday February 18, to feed the Hungry and Homeless.
The students partnered with the Atlanta Mission in this community service project.
The Atlanta Mission made available to the students the commercial kitchen at their
premises in downtown Atlanta. The student volunteers prepared a variety of rice
dishes, beans and garlic roasted chicken. Each individual was seated and severed
the fresh meal and drink by our student volunteers. More than 300 people were
served with chicken, rice and beans on this cold afternoon at the Atlanta
mission cafeteria.
Later in the evening with help from Cross Keys Communities Acton for Teens members, SkillsUSA members prepared delicious sandwiches, cookies and drinks. Which they delivered and handed over to over 50 hungry and homeless men, women and children at Atlanta’s Hurt Park.
