They are presenting information to the patron on the proper steps in developing an emergency plan. Sebastain Zambrano stated that “From participating, I got to feel proud of my chapter for stepping up and helping the community with something so small that makes such a big effect. Hopefully, the community feels more educated on emergency preparedness and how we can't predict the future, but we can get ready for it.”
On December 22, Cross Keys
High School SkillsUSA Chapter distributed disaster preparedness kits to
consumers in Plaza Fiesta Mall.
SkillsUSA members researched what should be included in an emergency kit
and then purchased those items. The items
were then placed in pails from Lowe’s.
Mr. Richard McLeod at
Lowes has worked with SkillsUSA Chapters in Florida and was enthused to work
with Cross Keys. During the last five (5) years,, Lowe’s has partnered with
Cross Keys in completing their community service project.
