Pictured above is Juan Sotelo, Gabriela Herrera and Morisol Villaneuva with one of the patrons in the mall.  They are presenting information to the patron on the proper steps in developing an emergency plan.  Sebastain Zambrano stated that “From participating, I got to feel proud of my chapter for stepping up and helping the community with something so small that makes such a big effect. Hopefully, the community feels more educated on emergency preparedness and how we can't predict the future, but we can get ready for it.”

On December 22, Cross Keys High School SkillsUSA Chapter distributed disaster preparedness kits to consumers in Plaza Fiesta Mall.  SkillsUSA members researched what should be included in an emergency kit and then purchased those items.  The items were then placed in pails from Lowe’s.

Mr. Richard McLeod at Lowes has worked with SkillsUSA Chapters in Florida and was enthused to work with Cross Keys. During the last five (5) years,, Lowe’s has partnered with Cross Keys in completing their community service project.
